“You’re changing grade levels!” Yeah, your heart probably skipped a beat there for a second. Changing grade levels can be a huge task, especially if you have been teaching the same grade level for a long time. In today’s episode, we are going to break this project down into manageable tips you can implement!
We have both been in a position where we have had to change grade levels while teaching. So, we know how overwhelming and sometimes scary it can feel so we wanted to dedicate an entire episode to it. We are going to be sharing some tips that hopefully you can apply to your situation to make it a little easier and a little less scary!
Now, every situation is a little different. You may WANT to change grade levels, you may dread changing grade levels, you may be moving only 1-2 grade levels, or you may be jumping multiple grade levels at once. We hope that these tips will put you at ease regardless of your situation!
In this episode you will hear:
How important a mindset shift can be to making this experience less stressful
Why purging can help to minimize stress and help you have a fresh start
Why is it okay to rely on your teammates… even if you've been teaching for years!
How being proactive will help to save your sanity at the start of the year
Why it is important to accept imperfection

129. We Watched The Home Edit (Again)... Here Are Our Thoughts!

We are back with another breakdown of The Home Edit (Season 2)! We love all things organization and we can often find inspiration from other areas in life other than just in the teaching spaces. We wanted to take an in-depth look at season 2 of The Home edit and share our BIGGEST takeaways and how they apply to teaching.
If you haven’t listened to our first episode of The Home Edit. Check out episode 085: We Watched the Home Edit… Here Are Our Thoughts! where Michelle and I watched season 1 of the Home Edit, separately of course, and then shared all our thoughts on the episode
We do want to acknowledge and send our positive thoughts and prayers to Clea from the show. In April 2022, Clea announced that she has breast cancer and she had a double mastectomy done in the middle of April. Unfortunately, I think we all have been impacted by cancer in one way or another whether it’s ourselves, a family member, or a friend which is incredibly sad and difficult. But, hopefully this serves as a reminder to go to the doctor, get your mammogram, get your wellness checks, etc. because you just never know.
